The four year scholarship program is primarily for students that are in high school and interested in pursuing a commission in the Navy or Marine Corps. Four year scholarships are awarded nationally. Scholarship applications are normally completed late in your junior year or in the fall of your senior year of high school.
4 Year Scholarship Benefits
- Full Tuition for 4 academic years
- $300 per semester book stipend
- $250 - $400 per month stipend during the academic year
- All uniforms are provided
- MSOE provides free room and board to all 4-year NROTC scholarship students.
Marquette University provides $3500 per semester to go towards room and board to all 4-year NROTC scholarship students.
- Paid summer training for the three summers while in college
How to apply:
- Take the SAT or ACT. The minimum SAT Scores 530 Verbal and 520 Math for Navy options or 1000 composite for Marine options. The minimum ACT scores are 22 English and Math for Navy options or 45 composite score for Marine options.

- Apply for an NROTC Scholarship online by visiting the official NROTC website.
Scholarship results will be released on a rolling basis from August through April.
2 and 3 Year Scholarship Programs
- Three Year Scholarships
Three year scholarships are offered for students that have already completed at least one semester of college or where not offered a national four year scholarship and are interested in pursuing a commission in the Navy or Marine Corps. Typically students will enter the program as a college program student and be offered a scholarship after completing one semester in the NROTC program. Three year scholarship students will participate in summer training after their sophomore year and junior year.
- Two Year Scholarships
Students can apply for a two year scholarship during their sophomore year of college. Students that are awarded a scholarship will be sent to the Naval Science Institute in Newport, RI in the summer before their junior year. Two year scholarship students will also participate in summer training after their junior year.
- Tweedale Scholarships
Students that are in a technical major (Engineering, Math, or Physical Sciences) and interested in pursuing a career as a Naval Nuclear Power Officer may be offered a scholarship by the local NROTC unit. For more information on Tweedale Scholarships, contact us.
