Description of Agency/Activities: Since 1987, Walker’s Point Center for the Arts (WPCA) has been providing professional gallery experience and quality, accessible youth art education programming to the neighborhood of Walker’s Point and beyond. We provide a welcoming, inspiring and intercultural environment for youth, artists and community members to connect and engage in dialogue. Our education programming fosters creativity in youth through projects that challenge their thinking and encourage hands on production. Our gallery program promotes community engagement and collaboration, and acts as a resource to artists and local organizations.

Student Role in Agency: Walker’s Point Center for the Arts (WPCA) is offering opportunities in our a) art education programs and b) exhibition preparation. Exact schedule will be determined based on the task assigned to student. WPCA will work with the student to develop learning goals to create a fulfilling experience. Student may choose to do both art education program assistance and exhibition preparation. Tasks will be given based on the need of WPCA and may also include community outreach/engagement and project management.
