Description of Agency/Activities: Casa Maria is a Catholic Worker House that provides and eclectic array of services. These services include transitional housing, a soup kitchen, housing for the disabled, and other various services. Their community members do not receive compensation for working at our houses, and many of them have jobs on the outside to provide for their own personal needs and the needs of the houses. Anyone who wishes to live a life of voluntary poverty, dedicate their life to those in need and oppressed, live a life of nonviolence and gentle personalism, and is willing to live in community is invited to join the Casa Maria Community.
Student Role in Agency: Service Learners will aid in the daily task needed at the house. The activities included, though not limited, are helping in the soup kitchen, organizing clothes to give away, giving assistance to those who live in the community.
