Service learning will take place at schools within the Milwaukee community. Specific site locations are to be determined.
By car: Head east on W Wisconsin Ave toward N James Lovell St. Then turn left at the 1st cross street onto N James Lovell St. Continue on W State St. to W Stevenson St. Drive to S 69th St and destination will be on the right.
By bus:Get on the GOLD bus heading east, ride the bus until stop #6853 on N68 & Wisconsin. Walking, heading south on N 68th St, toward W Wisconsin Ave, then turn right onto W Bluemound Rd. Turn left onto N 69th St and your destination will be on the right.

Days/Hours of Volunteering: Students can find out specific days and times for service learning during the Service Learning Sign-Up Night.
Description of Agency/Activities: GSWISE welcomes the opportunity to support students who want to give of their time and skills to help every girl discover who she can be and what she can do. Service Learning allows students to be a part of programming that is meaningful and relative to their area of study, contains activities that are both mutually beneficial to the student and GSWISE, and requires the students to be conscience of all activities they perform. Our mission along with students in a service learning capacity is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Student Role at Agency: Urban Out of School Time Troops: This position provides direct facilitation of programming to girls K5-8th grades. The troop experience allows the student to develop a lesson style while using our curriculum and creating a community for girls to grow creatively, learn leadership and team skills, and make lifelong friends. This role works in partnership with our Urban Initiatives Staff. Average group size is 12-30 girls.
