Why I like working at Service Learning
It's all about the people. No matter what kind of statistics there are out there--encouraging or potentially very disappointing--this job gives me the opportunity to work with and assist actual people with whom I can strive to bring positive energy into their lives.
What I hope my fellow students will get out of their Service Learning experience
I hope that my classmates can come to see the truly positive impact they can bring into a person's life, and how that, in turn, can help them to view life in a refreshing way. At some agencies that they may volunteer at, personal human contact is an incredibly important thread that many of the people they work with will rely on. By building relationships with these individuals, my fellow classmates can learn to appreciate and treasure the communities that make up the greater Milwaukee area.
