THE MARQUETTE ADVANTAGE
FRANÇAIS: Improve your proficiency in French and acquire an understanding of the Francophone world through cultures, literature and film. Study French for the Professions and use it in business related fields. Live the language through service learning at the French Immersion School or at the Alliance Française de Milwaukee.
ESPAÑOL: Acquire or improve Spanish skills through courses dedicated to language, literature, culture and film through our Language and Literature major. Get involved in Milwaukee's Hispanic community through service learning. Prepare to use Spanish in health and business related careers through the Spanish for the Professions program. Choose from study abroad programs, including our one-semester or yearlong Madrid program and our six-week summer program in Xalapa, Mexico.
LINGUAE CLASSICAE. Both classics majors provide a firm grounding in Latin and Greek languages and literatures. Our classical languages major focuses on traditional reading and translation of Latin and Greek. The classical studies major integrates history and philosophy with ancient languages, civilization and tradition.
DEUTSCH. Study in the city that almost made German its official language more than 150 years ago. Milwaukee's German heritage is evident in its architecture, restaurants and people. Study abroad for a semester or a year while you're an undergraduate.
SMALL CLASSES. For a better understanding and proficiency in your language, we limit class sizes to encourage greater student participation.
