Goal 1: Faculty Development

Develop a model that provides higher education faculty with knowledge, training, and support in technology use and integration in teaching that strongly enhances student learning in core academic subjects (math, natural sciences, English, social sciences, foreign languages) so that these educators can model and mentor future teachers in the use and integration of technology.

Objective 1.1 Increase 50 faculty members' use of technology in teaching (e.g. multimedia computers, scanners, digital and video cameras, presentation software, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic databases and information retrieval, the Internet, computer conferencing, videoconferencing, specialized software packages) in academic content areas.

Objective 1.2 Increase 50 faculty members' use of technology that supports the development of constructivist learning environments (authentic activities, social negotiation, multiple ways to learn, meta-cognition, student-directed learning).

Objective 1.3 Increase 50 faculty members' use of technology for their own professional growth.

Objective 1.4 Increase the coordination of technology use among faculty in the School of Education, Arts and Sciences, Communication and the partnership schools.
