The
workshop serves an important role in the faculty development
program. Workshops bring faculty face-to-face with educational
technology experts in a lab environment and provide opportunities
for the development of technology concepts and skills. Each
workshop is designed to address one or more of the various
technology proficiencies articulated in the ISTE National
Educational Technology Standards for Teachers. General areas
of proficiency include:
-
Technology operations and concepts
-
Planning and designing learning environments and experiences
-
Teaching, learning and the curriculum
-
Assessment and evaluation
-
Productivity and professional practice
-
Social, ethical, legal, and human issues
At
the end of a workshop experience, faculty members walk away
with the knowledge and skills that can be applied to the
educational setting.
