Departmental retreats provide an opportunity for colleagues to spend time away from work and reflect individually and together about the mission of their department. A departmental retreat is more than a workshop or training session. It is a time to build a community of companions in the ministry of higher education, to deal with substantative issues, and to reflect on how the work of their department enhances the mission of Marquette University as a Catholic, Jesuit University. Departmental retreats might address such themes as: Discerning and Deciding: How to Make Reflective Choices; Ignatian Spirituality 101 and Creating Community among Colleagues. The Office of Mission and Identity and the Faber Center for Ignatian Spiritual stand ready to help plan and implement a retreat
