For all classes, please note the following:

Choose between Adult or Adult/ Infant/ Child certification for all classes excluding the Heartsaver First Aid (covers all age groups)
Classes taught by Mr. David Leigh, MS, LAT, ATC Clinical Assistant Professor in Exercise Science Dept.
Classes are located in Schroeder Complex Athletic Training Laboratory Room 250
Classes are open to spouses/significant others
Classes are limited to 10 people per session
Payment is due before or on the date of the class you are registered for.

Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification (Adult OR Adult/ Infant/ Child)

This class explores first response management for adult CPR and AED use as well as choking on an adult utilizing a video-based but instructor led teaching style.

Dates offered: October 10, 2013 and March 5, 2014
Time: 4:00 PM- 7:00PM
Cost: $40.00 (Includes class, book, and certification card)

Heartsaver CPR/AED Recertification (Adult OR Adult/ Infant/ Child)

This class explores first response management for adult CPR and AED use as well as choking on an adult utilizing a video-based but instructor led teaching style.

Dates offered: October 24, 2013 and March 19, 2014
Time: 12:00 PM- 1:30PM
Cost: $30.00 (Includes class, book, and certification card)

Heartsaver First Aid

This class explores first response management for first aid, choking, or cardiac arrest utilizing a video-based but instructor led teaching style. Skills taught include first aid treatment for bleeding, broken bones, sprains, shock, and other emergencies.

Dates offered: November 14, 2013 and April 10, 2014
Time: 4:00 PM- 7:00PM
Cost: $40.00 (Includes class, book, and certification card)

Heartsaver CPR/AED Skills Check (Adult OR Adult/ Infant/ Child)

The skills check class is a web-based, self-paced class that teaches students how to preform CPR and use an AED in an emergency prior to emergency medical services (EMS) arrival.

Dates offered: October 17, 2013 and March 13, 2014
Time: 12:00 PM- 1:00PM
Cost: $15.00 (includes skills check and certification card)
Online course instructions:

Go to this site to register for Part 1 of the Heartsaver CPR AED online and obtain a course key to access class material.
Complete the online cognitive lessons and test at the end of Part 1.
Print the certificate that says you completed the online instruction.
Attend your Skills Check within 60 days after completing the online course.
Bring the skills certificate to the Skills Check so your instructor can sign off on your certification.

**Note: You will need to pay the fee to the American Heart Association for the online class ($23.00) in addition to the $15.00 to Employee Wellness for the Skills Check instructor.
