Fresh Produce

This is an image from the Three Sisters Community Farm website of what could be delivered to you weekly.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a program where area farms grow, harvest, and deliver fresh produce to their participants. CSA programs are a healthy, environmentally friendly option because they offer foods that are grown without pesticides, fewer hands have touched the produce, and there is less likelihood of rotting prior to delivery since food is picked fresh and delivered directly to you. Transportation of food is also hard on the environment and your food. Buying local food means that your food isn't traveling long distances so there is less pollution. Keeping food fresh as it travels often means coating it with chemicals to prevent spoiling as well.

The Three Sisters Community Farm is a local farm from Campbellsport, WI that offers CSA shares, and deliveries from this local farm will now be available to Marquette University employees. You can choose to have a 3/4 bushel box of organically grown, local produce delivered to your work on a weekly or biweekly basis. The Three Sisters Community Farm offers a unique option to customize the contents of your box via an online ecommerce store. If you prefer to not choose or don't have time, the farmers will choose for you. You can also share a box with a friend or two if you prefer to have weekly deliveries.

Marquette employees will receive a 5% discount when they purchase a share through the Three Sisters Community Farm. This program is open to the first 35 employees that sign up, and an additional 5% discount will be given if you register and pay before December 31, 2014. This price is already reflected on the sign up page. Prices will go up on January 1, 2015. Deliveries will be made from June to mid October every Thursday. Location and time of pick up will be announced at a later date.
