Sunlamps and tanning beds promise consumers a bronzed body year-round, but the ultraviolet (UV) radiation from these devices poses serious health risks.
“Although some people think that a tan gives them a ‘healthy’ glow, any tan is a sign of skin damage,” says Sharon Miller, M.S.E.E., a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) scientist and international expert on UV radiation and tanning.
Group Fit Passes
are now available. These passes grant you access to all classes offered at both recreational facilities. Passes can be purchased in the Rec Center Group Fitness Office during office hours.
There is an Aerobic Pass for group aerobics classes for $20 ($30 non-members), a SPIN pass for strictly SPIN classes for $20 ($30 non-members), and an ultimate pass that allows you access into both types of classes for $30/student ($40 non-members).
