His concerns regarding rural life and Catholic Action pertained to Latin America and the United States.

Biographical Note/ Scope and Content
Edwin V. O'Hara (1881-1956) was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Oregon City (now Portland, Oregon) in 1905. In 1923, Father O'Hara founded and served as the first director of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference. In 1930, he was consecrated a bishop and served first as Bishop of Great Falls, Montana, 1930-1939, and then as Bishop of Kansas City, Missouri, 1939-1956. He was named an archbishop in 1954.
