Career Events - Consider for Course Planning & Encourage Students to Attend

Recruitment and networking opportunities BEGIN QUICKLY each semester!  Employers are setting application deadlines as early as the first weeks of September, and in spring, the Business Career & Internship Fair typically occurs in mid-February.  Details on recruitment events will be emailed to faculty before the start of each semester with PowerPoint slides to help promote, and students can always access information on Handshake.

Student Publicity

The Business Career Center newsletter, BizCareers, is distributed college-wide bi-weekly.  This newsletter serves to inform and engage students about deadlines, announcements, events, involvement opportunities and other newsworthy items.  Within the fall and spring semesters, students, faculty and staff may submit news item requests to businesscareers@marquette.edu.

PowerPoint Slides: Business Career Center staff will continue to publicize upcoming events through PPT slides shared with faculty the Friday before each BizCareers goes out. Thank you for presenting these to your classes and/or posting to D2L.

Handshake & Recruiting Ethics

In alignment with our professional ethics, Business Career Center staff seek to ensure that students have equal access to information about job and internship opportunities.  When employers post to Handshake, this equity is achieved.

It is very efficient for employers to post to Handshake.  Over 700 colleges and universities use Handshake, so most employers (including all fortune 500 companies) have an account on the system already.  When you receive outreach from employers:

If employers request that you recommend individual students, please see the candidate referral guidelines developed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
