When do I use a cover letter?

Whenever you send a resume to an employer, it should be accompanied by a cover letter. The cover letter should highlight points made in the resume, give examples of related experiences and accomplishments and discuss further information that might not be on the resume that you want the employer to know. In addition, it projects your enthusiasm for the position and demonstrates your knowledge of the employer.
